Summer Reading Assignment/Expectations
Click here to review the 8th grade summer reading assignment - The 8th grade summer reading assignment encourages students to continue reading outside of school. Students are asked to keep a list of their self-selected titles and choosing one, complete a summary, series of reflections, and a plot diagram. This work is due during the second week of school and should reflect rigor and depth of thought.
Summer Science and Arts Academy
Pottery, renewable energy, astronomy, robotics, aeronautical engineering and painting are just some of the many exciting topics students entering grades 1 through 8 can investigate in through the district’s summer program – the Science and Arts Academy. This year’s program runs July 5 through July 28 at Snohomish High School (1315 Fifth Street in Snohomish). Classes are held Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Note: During the July 4-8 session classes will be held Tuesday through Friday due to holiday.) Click here for more information.
Parent Club Info
The Valley View Parent Club (VVPC) would like to extend a warm welcome to all the incoming 7th grade parents! We hope you'll find your two years here filled with happy memories for you and your student. To that end, we would like to extend an invitation to join us in helping make "the extra's" happen at this robust school. In a world of shrinking budgets and rising costs, the VVPC takes pride in ensuring our school remains a positive and enriching environment for all. As with any two-year school, we have board openings this fall for a treasurer, secretary and volunteer coordinator(s). Meetings are once/month on the second Thursday. Many volunteer opportunities come out over email and Sign-Up Genius, but the meetings are a great way to meet other parents and stay connected to your child's school life.
Please contact Kevin Kvarda at email@example.com if you'd like to assume an open board position of treasurer, secretary or volunteer coordinator. No special skills are required beyond a desire to get involved!
